Great news Mary,,thanks  cooldude
and the weather for Sunday is dry with a high around 65+/-   Smiley   The cool front coming in with Saturday's chance for rain, makes fog on Sunday morning a possibility. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed.  crazy2

I went to check out the first half of the ride route for tomorrow.  Last year we found a road closure south of Brenham, and had to do the "mandatory for each ride" U-turn  tickedoff  This year the road is open all the way from Brenham to the south, and back up through Burton to Hwy36 at Somerville.  cooldude   I did't see any tell-tale signs of a parade in Burton, so we may not be in one this year  uglystupid2   Not a huge amount of bluebonnets  Undecided  , but more than the previous two years.  In the event of a foggy morning necessitating a late departure, we will probably go straight up 290 to 36 and on to Snook.  It's all about the bacon anyway isn't it?  Roll Eyes

And since we have some new riders to this ride/route,,, Fuel up at the initial meet point Exxon before KSU at 0900hrs.  There's a Shell next door to the restaurant for lunch where we fuel before leaving from there.  There's not another fuel station on the route until we end at the Shell on Hwy290 @ FM1155 in Chappell Hill. This is where I fuel for the ride home .  See y'all tomorrow morning at 0830hrs Exxon/Denny's at Hwy290 @ FM1488.  I"ll be at the McD's getting some warm-up bacon products  coolsmiley

Me too!!!  Leaving Galveston at 630 sharp, meeting LandElephant at Pappasitos at NASA and I45(north bound side) and heading to Hempstead from there.  Not stopping at Pappasitos, just exiting and getting back on.

Anyone in our path is welcome to join us.

Bobby! Thanks again for organizing this! Great, (all be it chilly) ride today.   Clocked 300 miles today, good ride, good food, good company. What else can one ask for?

This guy safely back in the house.

Hey Jimmy! How is it you find the worst of Texas ********** drivers trying to push you out of your lane? Seems like if one owns a BMW or a Lexus, they do not have to worry about bike riders in your lane!  What a bunch!   From following you I was nervous of what these guys were trying to do, glad to see nothing bad happened!

Great to see all of our TX friends!

I got to the beach house about 6 pm safe and sound.  I stopped on the blue water highway and took some pictures of Ole Blue out on the beach.

Thanks to Bobby for setting this up.  We never got lost, didn't get mixed up in a parade, and got to Snook on time.

Only 2 people tried to kill me on the way home today.  So, I suppose it's a good day.

At the camper, safe and sound.  I will post some pictures later when I get them downloaded from my camera.

PS.  410 miles o smiles today.

Thanks Bobby for setting this up year after year.  As usual, ate too much fried stuff but it was fun and good to see everyone not only from Houston but some renegades from Austin.  Also enjoyed riding with you after lunch for a while as we rode the back roads to Chappell Hill.   BullGoose, Texas Deb, Big John and I did see a giant field of bluebonnets on Highway 6 near Navasota - I mean GIANT - with cars parked all around it and kids stomping them down getting their pictures taken - so it was a good way to head back.  BG and TD dropped off at 21 and 6, then John and I took 79 to 45, where he headed towards Palestine and I headed towards Dallas.  Stopped in Corsicana and got some banana bread for the spouse as thanks for the all day kitchen pass.  Got home at 7:29 after 581 smiles of riding.

Look forward to seeing the gang at GOTF.

Thanks Bobby for organizing this thing!  Sure was great to see all them Valkyries come together...

(A prelude to the Gatherin' maybe?)

...and got to visit with some of those Spyder folks...

...got to see FB's brand new one, too...

...the Man...

(For some reason I always focus on the bike!)

Had a good crosswind the whole way up and back, but plenty of good roads! Clocked close to 300 miles before gettin' back to the house.

Hey all,, It was my pleasure to have the opportunity to ride with you all. Met some old freinds, and made some new ones.  I think there were more new folks, than previous riders this year.  I'm glad the dreaded "U-turn" didn't pop up this year, and I really didn't miss being in a parade either. Thanks to all for participating, and for all the great pics you've posted. We'll see you all again in 3 weeks at GOTF.  cooldude
