Sad news on the Valkyrie front Sunday. My best friend and ironbutt rider Don, died in Arizona in a traffic accident. Officer said he made a left turn onto the hiway and didn't see a van coming his way. Doesn't sound like him, but he had left on Monday from Oregon, went to the Canadian border, turned right to Montana and then another right until he hit Oklahoma. He was on his way back home via Texas, New Mexico and then Arizona when the accident occurred. He loved to ride and had the bike and the time to do it. He will be greatly missed by many. He was an ol crusty marine who used his lack of hearing as a tool to ignore idots, it was fun to watch. He was an officer in our club, Clean and Sober MC, and was clean for over 25 years. May God bless him and take care of his daughter, she will need plenty of support.

I go past and sometimes stop in to the Hideaway.  Making a left turn across traffic and into their parking lot is a bit tricky as the oncoming traffic is coming around a bend and don't see you till late.  However the speed limit in that area is 30mph so I would wonder what else was involved.  Maybe the van driver wasn't looking or on the cell phone or.............
