Well, we have had most of the winter to ride every few days here in Kansas City. But now there is 2 plus feet of snow, I did not top up the tank the last time I was out. Was just wondering how long before the tank would start to rust if I just leave it with only maybe 2 gallons in it. Or would the prudent thing be to top it up, It looks like this is the longest ( 2 weeks) it will be sitting this winter without me ridding. Thank Rick..

Although keeping the tank full is a good practice, you need not worry over a couple of weeks of partially empty.

Just having gas in the tank keeps an oily layer over the metal and it is not a given that a tank will rust over being partially empty.

There are more things having to happen and that still does not mean your tank will rust.

Don't worry about it!
