Hey,
Reading the thread "I smell gas" has me and my girl in the same situation. I had been smelling a slight gas odor on off for a while thinking it just coming from the gas cap. I tackled the driveline maintenance this past weekend and discoverd gas dripping off the bottom of #6 carb. The exterior of the bowl is damp not really pin pointing the leak. When I cleaned the carbs in 06 the only o-rings replaced then where on the fuel rails. I am going to remove the carbs here soon to find and fix this leak.

I took the suggestion of buying the complete gasket kit from Redeye, even the gaskets for the bowls. Rich recommends using Seafoam as the o-ring lube or treatment. Is this really the best product or can something else be used in it's place. I view Seafoam as more of solvent or cleaner.

Are you sure it's not your petcock leaking?  Or a split in the vacuum line from #6 to the petcock?

silicone grease aka di-electric grease for the o-rings.
using seafoam would be a dumb thing to do.

Just curious, by why would using Sea foam not be the lubricant of choice? It is whats recommended by the person selling (making?) the product. It says on the can that it has lubricant in it.

The die-electric grease or silicone was going to be my choice and glad to see others here recommend it.

Thanks guys,
