Can anyone tell me what year they changed the seat on the Standard and did the also change the passenger seat or did it stay the same all years.  ???

The rider seat changed in 2K, the passenger remained the same.

I believe the texture of the vinyl changed and the passenger seat got that new material as well, so if you only change one there could be  very slight difference in apperance

I don't think the "Make in USA" label on the back of the passenger seat made it through the change either.

I have the newer single seat and like it much better then the 99 double seat.
I sit lower and more comfortable with the single.

Bought the newer model seat for my 98 Tourer.

I took the advice of many here on the forum and replaced the seat on my '97 standard with the '00 seat- much less slipping forward and considerably more comfortable. $ well spent.

Same here, 2000 seat on a 97 and yes on the texture difference between the two. Passenger seat still original. I am glad I made the change and still a hundred bucks. cooldude
