It was Sunday the 11th of March 2012

I hope that in the last year, You were motivated enough by LASERPAT's death from colon cancer to GIT-R-DONE with the COLONOSCOPY.

To any of you that GOT-R-DONE  LASERPAT would say Thank You.  T.P.

Its an important part of life at our age. I recently had my third. I look forward to getting the nurse to pull my finger afterwards.

From those posts, including the sad events leading to LaserPats passing, I scheduled my first Colonoscopy in July. I also had an endoscopy done at the same time. I had a couple benign polyps removed but also had one that they went back in and got from my duodenum. It was biopsied and turned out to be cancerous but it was contained in the polyp-at least that was the finding of my clinic plus doublechecked by Mayo Clinic. Without the endoscopy, it would have grown undetected and possibly gotten to my Pancreas--a likely death sentence. I have a lot to be thankful for.

I'm grateful but so sorry it didn't work out for LaserPat. It's bittersweet... Cry

TP
I also made an appointment after reading your post. I have had three now, been putting the last one off for too long. Thanks for the reminder that we are not invincible, we need to take care of things like that or we may learn to regret it.

wiggydotcom,  that is great news, who know what would have happened if you had not gone in for the test!

Had one shortly thereafter. Scheduled before your post. They found polyps buit nothing bad. Gotta go back in three years. I just hope I dont have to go to Cuba for superior medical care.

Na, you can go to Mexico.  They don't take Americans in Cuba.   2funny

I didn't get nervous until I noticed in the middle of the "procedure", the doctor had a hand on each of my shoulders.

Had mine last year jsut after Laserpat passed.  Fortunately, the doc said everything was fine and see ya in 10 years.  I'll probably re-visit it in 5 years just to be sure.
