Wow!
Started the ol' gurl up for the first time in about 4 months to get her on the table lift and she smoked for about two maybe three minute straight ........... blue!  Shocked
Once the garage cleared out I put er' up on the table and will start getting things ready for spring.
She's smoke like that a couple times while sitting for a while on the side stand but I was curious if this has happened to anyone while the bike is stored upright ......... in a chalk? I never have had to add oil during the riding season.
I think it to be just leak down from sitting so long.

T-man:
I started mine the other day after being parked all winter. Same thing, blue smoke for a few minutes but cleared up. I haven't worried about it.

More out of the left exhaust than the right?

The bike is on the kick stand, and leans to the left, allowing oil to seap past the rings into the cyclinder, and upon startup, you have more oil than normal on that side of the bike (sometimes spits out the exhuast too), and therefore it takes a little time to burn out.

(as posted in the past, seems every spring, maybe do a search and get more info from others in the know)

I'm thinking this is pretty much normal.

The first time it happened was two summers ago while on the side stand for an extended period. Last summer, same thing. I didn't expect it to happen with it standing straight up in a wheel chalk though.
When you see it happen, you'd think you'd be topping off the the oil every now and then during riding season, but I haven't had to add a drop!  cooldude
