Going to change the tw from 6 to 4 deg and the timing belts on my I/S. I have tried to loosen the TW bolt by fifth gear and brake hold. CANT get that bolt to brake loose. It does loosen to the left facing frt. of bike ? May have to find a small impact . Also should the tensioners be able to roll free when not running. They are against the belts but can be easily rolled? Any problem setting the tension on them when I get done?

That's correct - turn the bolt counterclockwise to loosen.
And yes, the tensioners can very possibly feel free to turn. The spring on the tensioner sets the force against the belt. Don't confuse it with a belt setup on a car!

I put the 1/2 impact w/ 100 psi. still wouldnt budge. Guess I'll leave the 6 deg. on and change the belts. Been approx. 60k with 6 on I/S so far.

Use a penetrating oil and let it stand for awhile then go back to it in the next day or two with the impact wrench.

take it out for a nice long ride and warm everything up...That along with the penetrating oil and impact driver should do the trick.

When i did the belts on my I/S my riding bud across the street loaned me his 1/2 inch drive electric impact. Poppped that sucker right off.
Good luck with it. You do know that these beasts of ours have a mind of their own?right??
