Does anyone have a good photo of the under-trunk CB radio mount? I can't find one and would like to fabricate same.

Did you look at the reply to your previous post....not a photo, but the CB installation manual shows the brackets.  You should be able to fab what you need from the diagram....they are only metal straps that make the bracket...and the needed 6mm flange bolts and spacers are pretty clearly shown.

Good luck with your project...

That plus looking for on advertised on ebay, is how I figured to modify and then mount the radio under my trunk.

Thanx, 9ball, I forgot about that post. I've been checking E-bay and Pinwall for months. I should be able to cobble something together from those pics. Thanks to Dag as well. I can't put it under the saddle because I need room for a larger than stock battery to go with the 90 AMP alternator, and the stock radio and power amp for the Polk speakers.

You could modify a 1200 GW bracket.

that's an antenna mount...he needs the CB box mount

I found a few pictures of the mounting brackets installed on the radio for your info...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/01-Honda-Valkyrie-GL1500-1500-CB-RADIO-VIDEOS-/130802623653?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7471a4a5&vxp=mtr

This link has some nice pictures so you can see what it looks like from both sides.

You should be able to fab this up in less than an hour on your workbench using a vice, hacksaw, and drill bits.  I'd use 1/8" thick by 3/4" wide flat stock aluminum instead of steel.  Easy to cut, bend and drill.  Most hardware stores have what you need.

Phred, have you considered a Lithium battery instead? Look for one with the correct oritation of the battery terminal, and has the same CCA or better than the Valk battery.

http://www.shoraipower.com/

You can look up the different physical sizes and CCA of the battery.

I saw this at the winter motorcycle show, I thought it was an empty plastic case for show, but the salesman assurred me that it was the actual battery.
