I'm in the process of converting my interstate into a super valk. After following the directions on the tech board the conversion is complete except for the solo seat (thanks for the help). I really like the looks of the studded Mustang seat but I am concerned a one size fits all seat won’t work for my 6' 3" 270lbs frame. When I called Mustang the first time, I was told the seat moves you forward a little bit. The second time I was told it moves the driver back. So any input from larger members would be greatly appreciated.

I like have both Ultimate and Mustang seats, but recently sold the Ultimate since it was one size too small for me. I am 6'2 with 220lbs, so I am not small. I find the Mustang comfortable and have no problems with it. I like the looks, but might upgrade at some point to the Ultimate Big Boy.

Seats are so individually subjective it is hard to chose just by reading. Go hook up on a group valk ride, and get everyone to let you try their seats (they all snap on and off easily), before you decide.
The Mustang is about an inch taller than stock and a bit firmer than stock (when new) or ultimate, but way softer than corbin. All my bikes before the valks had Mustings and I liked them a lot, the valks have ultimates.

I have a studded Mustang seat set. It was on the bike when I bought it. I'm 6'2" and currently 255-ish.....but have been up to 270 before. I've had a bunch of different seats. A '97 OEM stock seat (horrible seat). A much improved 2000 and up OEM stock seat (pretty good actually, but sat me further foward than I wanted......a cheap alternative to the really expensive seats). Corbin seat (it sat me further forward than I wanted, but it did fit me pretty good otherwise.....but talk about sitting on a brick). Ultimate King Big Boy seat set that was full optioned (spend big money for it). The Ultimate was pretty good, but I had two problems with it. The first was that it is a very wide seat. I felt like I was getting a ob/gyn exam every time I got on it. The second problem was that it simply wouldn't work with my saddlebags that I put on my bike. The lids wouldn't open because of the seat's width......but I don't have standard OEM bags on my bike either. I keep going back to the Mustang because it fits me better than all of those other seats I've tried. The Mustang is a firm seat to be sure (not as firm or hard as a Corbin), but it seems to work the best for me at this point. With all that said, I can tell you from experience from all of them, that the Mustang will sit you a little higher/taller AND further back.....further back than ANY seat I've had.

I have a Mustang that has served me very well for over 12 years. It still looks as good as when I bought it. It's got close to 100k on it.
Not sure, but maybe the difference in Mustang telling you one moves you forward and one moves you back might have to do with the difference between Interstates and Standard/Tourer??
I just purchased an Ultimate, and I think it just became my favorite.
It is more comfortable, easier on the backside. But will it last as long?
Don't know yet.

Mustang makes no distinction in seats between interstate and others.... seats for Valk, is it.

I put a Mustang in place of the stock seat on a VTX, and put a Mustang in place of a Corbin on my Dragon. In both cases, it set me back a little. I have 1" risers on the Valk. They were perfect with the Corbin, but not so much with the mustang. I was ambivalent about the one on the VTX, the one on the Valk is very comfortable.

Ultimate bigboy is the best seat I ever had. Luckily it came on my bike with the backrest which is the key to comfort. 700 mi day no problem with the butt. Worth it IMO.

I'm 6'3 as well and around 250. I have the Mustang studded seat and I'd say that it does move me forward. Its very comfortable and well made. Personally I'd like to sit back a bit and slightly higher. I will check out some of the seat vendors at InZane this year.

JP, What mustang seat do you have? The vintage wide or the one with a back rest? Thanks

Thanks much! I put a solo rack on it late last summer and I bought a tinted NS Switchblade Windshield over the winter. I think I finally have it the way I want it.

I have the Ultimate Big Boy, much more comfortable to me than a Mustang seat. It really boils down to personal preference and the other compatible accessories on your bike.
