Ok guys I'm looking for local Valk riders that dont mind lending a hand and their experience in doing a engine swap. I suffered a catastrophic failure a year and a half ago read really bad Hydro lock, and have just managed to scrape up the coin to get a low mileage motor from Pinwall to get me back in the wind. Any help or tips would be much appreciated. I live in Monroe IA and will be hopefully performing the surgery next weekend.

Shoot me an email  so we can get phone numbers. Never done a motor swap but  I wouldn't mind helping and learning along the way. Valkrider@gmail.com

Like to try to help but right in the middle of calving , easter, and hauling beans to town , just lay everything out in order as you take it off pics wont hurt .

Room is a problem for laying everything out. I'm trying to get this done in a crowded 1 car garage. I'm doing my best to label everything also polishing chrome and aluminum as I take it off the bike so the tear down is slow but hopefully it will make everything quicker as I'm putting it back together. Figure I'll never have a better chance to get some of those hard to reach areas.

Just wanted to give Brad a sincere thank you for his help on Saturday without him we could not have taken out the old motor, The second shift kicked in after you and Jon left and we managed to get the new one in. Grin I still have a lot of things to rehang but the biggest part is done. Thanks again and I owe you a dinner next time the Iowa group gathers and I'm off that is. PS Bob had primers today.

Glad to hear that progress is getting done on the engine swap. Wish I could have helped with it. Maybe next time, on some little thing.     Fuzzy

Ok folks most of the hard stuff is done but could use 1 more set of hands for a couple of hrs to button things up. I will be working on it monday and tuesday and hopefully everything will be ready to try a test start on one of those days. If anyone can lend a Norweigan a hand for a while on either day please let me know. Rich AKA Bigun

Heads up Iowa members, Rich aka Bigun needs some help today.
I can't cause I only got 1 arm, other one is all wrapped up where I took a ton of hide off on the Dakota.     I tripped and fell into the Dakota.   That little V8 emblem did a good # on the upper arm.     Still damn painful to bend it.

I tried stubbing my toe this morning to make the hurt in the arm go away.    Didn't work and my pain pills I take didn't faze it either.   So, I'll just grit my teeth and suck it up.
