Thought I'd post this on the Texas page first... just in case any of you local guys wanted to have a look at it.

1998 Honda 1500C Valkyrie Standard/Tourer

The VIN on this bike built in May of 1997 confirms that it is indeed a standard but is is dressed nicely as a tourer.  I am the second owner.  I bought the bike through consignment from his widow.  Due to extensive internet reasearch it has what appears to be Champion Hard Bags.  The PO obviously paid top dollar for these colour matched bags.  The windshield is the Honda OEM with the OEM driving lights. I hope explains my listing.

It's easier just to post a bullet list of features:

Current Milage:50k-ish
Colour matched Champion hard bags
Honda OEM clear windshield and driving lights w/inside pockets.
Six fuse accessory block that shuts off when the ignition is off.
ALL exteraneous accessories/lighting are routed through this block. No invasion of the OEM harness.
Expanded rear LED stop and tail lights. (Relayed from the accessory block.)
A Rivco centerstand with a custom made pull handle.
A darkside Goodyear Triple Tread rear tire. (Many, many miles left.)
Nut job performed at that time.
Marathon 800 front tire.
Rear spline service recently performed.
Baker Air Wings (Clear)
Belts replaced at:
Valves recently set.
Ultimate King Boy seat
Kurakyn Side Pegs
Brand New AGM battery
New wheel bearing on from and rear at:
New brake pads all round at:
Newly replaced alt cover.

Asking: $6200
(some wiggle room, and quite a few parts and a Clymer manual.)

Lots of images here:

Those are not Champion Hard Bags. Don't know what they are, but 100% sure they are not Champion. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.    Smiley

That could well be true... the internet is such a dicey place.  Just consider, they allow me on it!  2funny

However when I went to find a broken buckle for them the gentleman I emailed at Champion seemed to think they were old style "Liberty" bags and sold me a latch... which fit perfectly.  He seemed to base his claim more on the mounting hardware than the bags themselves.

None the less, they are pretty nice hard bags, thick gelcoat material, with the moulded carpeting inside painted to match complete with the orange pinstripe.

Some one paid a pile for these...

Sorry to see you selling, Travis.  Someone is going to get a really nice bike.

From the Champion website.  Not a Valkyrie, but Liberty bags on a Honda 750 Aero Retro.

A Valkyrie with the even more expensive Patriot bags can be viewed here:  http://www.championsidecars.com/images2/hardbag/Honda_Valkyrie_Patriot.jpg

Now, back to your regularly scheduled program...

I always liked the patriot bags better... but mine were already on the bike when I bought it.

I seem to have a serious problem... I like to buy bikes in distress.  Once I get em cleaned up and running good I sort of lose interest.

The new project a 82 GL1100 Interstate is here:
