Does anyone know if the Push To Talk switch for the CB on the control pod on an I/S can be converted to Mute the radio speakers while holding down the finger switch?  When I pull up to someone to talk to them a minute or two I would like to Mute the radio instead of shutting it off or turning the volume down.  I don't have a CB so I am not using the switch for that.  Thanks in advance.  Rick

Without looking at the schematic I would assume that the PTT is a non locking switch that operates or makes connection when pressed.  If you can locate the termination points of the wiring you could build it so that this switch being pressed would operate a relay that would interrupt the audio out of the radio.

I just hit the Speaker Select switch. It sends the audio to the headphone connection, so if you're not using headphones...

Thanks, I will try in the mean time to hit the audio button.  And, try to work on getting the switch to do the same thing.  I think it would be better to use the finger switch.  Thanks again for the replys.
