Hello. I am new to the page and I just bought a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate. Love the bike and I never thought I would love a cruiser over my Hayabusa, but me and the girl do. One problem, the previous owner stated that when he changed out the battery the radio never came back on. I tried looking at the fuses, relays, connections and everything under the seat is good. I haven't tried to take apart the dash yet. The gas indicator on the LCD display works but nothing else comes on. Completely blank. Every once in a blue moon a faint background display will come up. I am at a complete loss for words on this. Followed the schematics and all is good. Anyone know that answer for this? Otherwise can anyone recommend an aftermarket radio that will intergrate easily with this bike.

Thank you in advance

try pushing the button on the left lower above where the lever is for the cb transmit. to turn the radio on.

When the radio is off, the clock displaces the radio screen with a digital display.

There is no clock display. Also the trip odometer will reset once you turn off the bike. Strange gremlins with this one.

Clean the battery ground (both ends) then check the battery connections from the battery out. You won't need to remove the dash, just pull the speaker covers and check connections in there. If your fuzes are all good,it sounds like a loose or removed connection, but, if it started with the battery check from there. Might also check the connections to the radio. (under the seat, on top of the battery) cooldude
