Valks are certainly welcome -- Wizard rides his every year.  And there are other bikes as well.  It's the people that make the event.

Phyllis and I go every year and ride our valks. We also do registration...

I know the one time I stopped by I was certainly made to feel welcome. And I was on my valk. These folks would welcome anyone That's just who they are.

Shala and I are finally registered and looking forward to Erwin again this year.

I think it only fair to see Valkyries at a Rune Rally since we went to the Valkyrie event in Cheaha on our Runes.  I didn't catch anyone frowning on our presence there.

We have a friend that rides a new Vmax that may also make the trip with us.  The more, the merrier is what I always say.   cooldude

Plan on LOTS of gas stops!!  The fuel light on my '09 VMax comes on somewhere around 90 miles.  Fun bike, but the gas tank is tiny.

This I know for a fact as I still have my original 85 Vmax which needs a drink about every 110 miles - which is a good thing as my tail bone and legs need to stretch out at least that often anyway. LOL

CONFESSION TIME:  This year, we are planning a TRAILERED TRIP.    Embarrassed
Seems my circulation doesn't tolerate the longer bike trips.  At least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking with it.   Grin

oh the shame....the humility...........

OH WAIT....of course, i'm trailering to the Rune rally too. I am bringing all the supplies to put on the rally. That's my story/excuse...and i'm stickin' to it too  Wink  And........truth be known..........most events we go to .....we wind up trailering there. FOR US......it is NOT about the ride there....but about the people, the event...and the riding WHILE WE ARE THERE. but i respect those who feel the ride there is important. And OF COURSE, i expect they will respect my decsion to trailer there.........  For us, with Sherry's back (fractured years ago in bad horse accident), the sheer number of events we go to and therefore LACK OF TIME to get there and back .....ease of bringing supplies (especially when we're talking about the Runes!).....bringing the THREE dogs on many trips........etc....it just makes PERFECT sense for US....to trailer there.

that said, we are RIDING to the Maggie Valley BBR event 17 July. And then riding on from there to Erwin, TN to do a scouting trip for the Rune Rally! it will be the FIRST RIDING TRIP FOR SHERRY SINCE THE 1980s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Quite a milestone for her. No, it's not an Iron Butt. we're only going about 400  miles. But for HER..........that's the longest trip she will have made on a bike in almost 25+ years!

oh, we're doing it on the VALKS. leave out 17 July for the BBR rally in Maggie, NC. then leave out 19 July for Erwin. Come back home from TN the 23rd of July. That's our summer bike trip this year....in place of Inzane. This will be the FIRST IZ i've EVER missed.....I've been to them all (and worked on Staff at most of them) until now!
