I am curious if anyone could give me the dimensions inside of the oem or the ebay bag rails. I am considering the knock off rails, but need to know how far out from the fender is the inside of the outer rail and from front to back, the inside dimensions. I have a set of new road king bags, the leather wrapped ones, and was wondering if I could fit the rails around them.
Thanks

Approx. 9 in. wide and deep, 23in. long.  It mounts to the bottom of the oem bag heat shield, it may be required to hang them.  I have doubts they can be used without the bag racks, they are made to fit the oem bags and rack.I know they will mount without the bags. Hoser  ???

Thanks Hoser, just measured the bags and I believe they'll fit based on those measurements. Looking at the pics of those rails on e-bay, it looks as though the rails have a curve in them. My bags are pretty straight so does that curve mean that the 9" measurement becomes less or is that them minimum measurement. I have some room to work with, my bags actually measure only about 7" at the bottom and 21" in length. The  other thing would be ,is the 9" measurement how far away from the fender the inside rail is. Even though my bags are only 7" at the bottom, by the time they are mounted to the fender rails, the outside edge of the saddlebags will be more like just under 10" away from the fender . That might be the game stopper.  I know there will be some configuring to mount them as the bags were not made specifically to mount on a Valkyrie of course.
Thanks for your help.

I have been looking at those rails also,, keep in mind what Hoser said about the mounting location to the OEM bag mounts... They would not be stable without this being secured, so some provision has to be made.
