 You should also know that thread anti-seize compound is recommended with any fasteners used in high temperature areas, such as the engine manifolds, exhaust, etc.

Yep, thread locker is a no no.

Anti-seize is recommended.

As stated.....

Red Loc Tite if you never want to take it back off again. 

Blue Loc Tite if you plan to take the screw/bolt back off at some point. 

And again......anti-sieze on high temp items.....so your fastners won't seize into whatever they've been threaded into..

To further clarify things in general...

Blue is for medium strength holding power.

Purple is for small fasteners.

Red isn't necessarily permanent, but probably requires heating(like with a torch) to release the grip
on the fastener.
