There comes a time when any excuse will do.

It's Decatur Tx. Petrified wood station. Tx historical marker. Had station / camping area for motorists along 287. The owner would always provide a place to park for the night and provide travelers with a campfire and plenty of wood to cook with.

Thank you for the location.  I might visit there the next time i return a dvd.

We live in Frisco, Texas.   One Sunday, I hopped on the Valkyrie to exchange a rental dvd.  Cruised 10 miles down the tollway to a Blockbuster at Frankford/Tollway.  Exchanged the dvd.

Returning North on the Tollway to Frisco to watch the dvd with my wife would have been the smart choice.  But I am a Valk rider...

I went South.  Took the Beltline exit.  Instead of doing a uturn and returning North on the Tollway...I headed West on Beltline.

Did y'all know that Beltline road circles the Metromess?

After circling the West side of Dallas, I 'accidently' found myself in Wilmer, TX.  Wilmer is 14 miles South of downtown Dallas (44 miles South of Frisco).

I called the wife to tell her I was on the way home.  Made a beeline up hy45, continued on 75....got BACK on Beltline to the NDT...arrived at home and proudly handed my wife the dvd.

She opened the case, looked at me and said, "umm....where is the disk?"

Went back to blockbuster (in the cage this time) to exchange the empty case for a case with a movie in it.

Not including the 20 mile round trip in the cage, my trip to exchange the dvd was 110 miles.

Rode out to Decatur this weekend.  Ate at Sweetie pies ribeyes.  Had to stop and get our own pictures of the Petrified Wood Station...
