NEW TIMES

I'm changing the departure times due to weather.

I will lead a ride to Meunster for the Germanfest on April 27th.  I have never been so it will be a new experience for me.  Here are the details.

$10 Admission
http://www.germanfest.net/home/
Depart at 10am from Lake Dallas at the Exxon on the NW corner of Swisher Rd and I35E.
Route - http://tinyurl.com/d79jbrp
The ride is only to Meunster.  Once there everyone is free to do and leave as they wish as there are many activities and live music till 10pm.
We will stop in Justin at the Valero on the west side of FM156 between the two red lights of FM407 to pick up the "westerners" around 10:30am.

Please give me a head count.

A nice ride on the back roads. I have to work. Check out the bbq pits if you have time, some pretty nice rigs. Tempting to dial a day... Angry

Ok, for the "westerners" I will stop at the Valero (I think) on the West side of 156 in Justin in between the two redlights for FM407 just north of the Justin Boot stores about 10:30am.

Made changes to the departure times due to the weather forecast.  The event is rain or shine and so is the ride.  Hopefully the rain should be gone by then, but have your rain gear ready just incase.

Ann and I are going to bail.  Cry

We have only been riding 2up for 3 weeks

We don't have rain gear yet.

I have zero experience riding the valk in the rain (not overly concerned about riding the valk in the rain, but add in our inexperience 2up in a group...)

We look forward to the next opportunity.

[our bailing almost guarantees that there will  be nothing but sunshine and good times  Smiley for the ride]

Even if its raining its a short trip and would be a good learning experience.  But if your not comfortable no worries.

Sorry we'll miss you, and if you don't make it, don't worry.  There's always next time.  But, if you are inclined to, please reconsider.  We are an accommodating bunch, with lots of experience riding together, and we can have a brief pre-ride discussion that will give you the basics.  Those things, when combined with our usual relaxed pace and back roads route, will give you perhaps as much as a couple hundred miles of practice outside the metromess.

We've even made sure that the rain has been removed from the forecast.   Wink

You all enjoy, be safe and don't forget your prayers for safety in that pre-ride discussion Mr. Disco.  I'll be in McKinney road blocking for the Ride for Relief.

Me thinks a wrench party at my place might should happen in the near future.  Any interest?

Thanks, Randy!  What a great day for a ride.  Overcast and chilly in the morning, but nothing a partially unzipped jacket liner and winter gloves couldn't handle, followed by almost cloudless sunshine the rest of the day.  The kind of day one longs for most of the year.

Ever heard of German Pizza?  I hadn't.  But it was GOOD!  Tasty medium crust, spicy mustard, sauerkraut, two kinds of cheese (not sure which two), spicy green peppers of some kind, and German sausage.  Yummo!

Top that off with a Spaten Oktoberfest and lunch was had.   cooldude

Then, top those off with a blueberry cheesecake strudel and a Shiner Bock, and dessert was had.   Wink
