Sealant for Cam Cover to bolt?
«
on:

A search on sealant recommended either "water pump gasket" sealant or "silicon" sealant to use on the cam cover upper bolt.
Any recommendations on either one? How much to use?
TIA
Jerry

That bolt goes into the oil galley in the engine no pressure but oil weepage might happen. Use a light coat of permatex gasket sealer. If you don't have that, waterpump gasket sealer will also work. Remember, it's not under pressure.
