Folks. I have a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate with a Roadsmith trike conversion. I am not happy with the lights on the tour pack or the fender lights. The incandescent lights just aren't bright enough. The turn signals are barely visible during daylight hours. Today I went to my local LED light shop and we tried everything in stock but nothing fit. Even the newer led tower dual element lights would not work as run and brake and others, supposed to be direct replacement, didn't fit the rubber socket. We couldn't even come close on the turn signals.  Does anyone have any first hand advice for replacement bulbs or custom work?  Thanks in advance.

I am running these bulbs in my signal housings. I have the rear as run/turn. I am thinking of wiring the turn circuit to my trailer light converter so I can get more brake lights in the back.  They are definitely brighter than the stock 1157 /1156 bulbs. I have not found a bulb that can replace the ones in the trunk yet.

Forgot to mention. You will need to either replace the flasher with one compatible with LEDs or put in load equalizers to allow the correct flash rate.

Kuryakyn's Deep Dish Bezels with LEDs will work. I have a set, but haven't installed yet.

I also have a Kury run/brake/turn converter installed. It's not listed for IS, but works fine with it.

Nitro, which Kury run/brake/turn converter works, and is that in the stock rear stem light pods?

Yes, those deep dish bezels just replace the OEM lenses, not the entire signal. They attach using the same single screw as OEM.

I'll have to find the part number and get back to you, they have several that look the same.

I had the same problem with the lights on a Roadsmith conversion.  I contacted them at the Trikeshop and they sent me the correct wiring conversion harness and the problem was fixed.  You do not need to change the bulbs.  In fact, they asked me if I had any LED lights in the circuit and told me not to use them at all.

I used #3496 bulbs as replacements for the turn signals (front and rear) in several bikes.  40-50% more output and twice the life.  Google them for your own satisfaction.  Also, Deep Dish Bezels look sharp, but limit the side visibility of your turn signals.  However, I do have them on my I/S.  If you really want to light up the rear end, install all LED's across the trunk and an LED brake light (requires a brake light from a standard or tourer)...Jim

Here's the same run-turn-brake controller installed in my IS. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/732/Universal-Run-Turn-Brake-Controller
I've been happy with it.

Many here have complained of Kuryakyn chrome quality.  All of mine has been fine, except my deep dish plastic chrome signal bezels are bubbling and cracking and look pretty shitty in front.  YMMV

No problems here after 5+ years.
