I'm wanting to remove the front wheel on my darkside interstate and have the E3 swapped out for a bias ply rear tire. Do I need to remove the rotors before taking the wheel/tire to the shop for the new tire mounting? I assume they should be but I'm not sure and I can't find any infor on that so far. Also, for the riders that have switched to the bias ply rear on the front, what benefits or improvements over the cement radial have you gained, other than the extended mileage? Sorry for my lack of know how as I'm fairly new to the Valkyrie world.

I just had a new tire mounted and balanced with the rotors on the wheel. No problem.

I'm running the D404 Bias rear on the front and I believe it grips the road better than the Avon I had on previousll............BUT I'd bet any tire put on would be better than the old, most likely worn down tire it replaces.

I got my front tire changed without removing the rotors. D404 bias rear tire up front with Dyna-beads for balance. Handles well, even in the rain, and half the price of a radial. Pic is at 17K miles..

I just changed out a old Metz that came on the bike when I bought it, with a new d404.

Big difference in handling.  She holds the road much better and stays on track, way better.

Could be cause I'm comparing new to old, but the Metz still had tread.

I've changed probably 5-6 front tires myself, never had to remove the rotors.  This time, the rotors were some aftermarket brand x that also came on the bike from the PO.

While balancing, I noticed a warp in one. Undecided Cry Angry  Pretty sure I did it, just don't know how.

Luckily, I also got the OEM rotors with the bike, mic-ed them up, (4.6 I think) and installed them.

I've never damaged any OEM before, and there a large dif between them and the pos aftermarket ones.

When I need new, it'll be OEM!
