I left my house at 5:45 am yesterday and got back et 9:15......went down through Hubcap Ville(ClemsonSC) up Hwy 28 to highlands and on through to Robbinsville NC. It seems that all 3 of my Grand kids had out grown there Dragon shirts so I figgered I needed to go get them a new one.   Grin
I made a slow and painful run through the Dragon and turned around at the overlook......Going back was better....Now I know where the PoPo's are.  cooldude I pushed some young guy on a sportie bike hard all the way back to the store.....At the store he said "Damn Dude that thing hauls don't it". Check out all the Photo takers from Saturday and you'll see me on his arse..... Wink
I stayed at the store longer than any stop of the day....I had to cool off and stop sweating from the hard run on the Dragon. Got 3 news shirts for the Grand kids and headed for home. Took a different route down 74 to 276 to 64 through Chimney Rock and south to home....

5 bottles of water 4 small Gatorade's 1 small cheeseburger and half a Mtn. Dew.

601.9 miles!!! HOT!!!  uglystupid2

Hope to be up that way next week with all the 4th cagers. See ya went by my son's property on 64 just west of Chimney Rock. There is a pull over on the river side. Has real estate for sale signs on it. Next time stop and take a dip. Would feel great after all those long hot miles. We are trying to get up there before surgery on his knee he injured in Iraq. If anyone is up that way and see us with a blue Chevy Suburban and a sport bike and Valk Interstate, stop by and take a dip with us.

Sounds Like it's not far from my Folks place on 64....It's about 6 miles from Bat Cave on the left.

Damn Mark.....our paths almost crossed.  I rode up to Highlands yesterday, came across Wayah Road, and was up at the Dragon having a burger right around 3:00.

Sorry I missed you.

Lincolnton NC, my home town, has had a H.O.G. Happenin' for the past few years. Around 5-8thousand people each year a few events, a little bbq, and even fewer vendors. I like the idea of the gathering (which is ultimately to bring people into the downtown area) even if I don't usually enjoy the event as much as I should.
I do like their shirts. Anamorphic boars on bikes.
But I didn't.  Does that mean it is to far?

Sounds like you had a good ride Det8ner.
