Just wondering if anyone has tried these, could be handy in the tool kit if it works.  Looks like someone with more skills than I could fabricate one out of thin metal or plastic.

Saw a few posts about these. I think they work about as well as the 35mm film trick, just easier to find cooldude

I haven't used it, but a customer who rides a Texas Chopper come by the shop and showed it off.    He had a seal leaking pretty bad.  He wanted us to fix it, we set a date for his appointment and in the meantime he heard of that tool and ordered 6 of them.

I'd say it it does a good fix, then go for it.........

They reportedly work much better than the 35mm film negative, which is easy to bend/fold/self destruct when trying to saw back and forth around the fork legs to clean the seals.

I need one right now.

Three bikes I've used them on have all stopped leaking and I haven't yet had to go back to do them again. Well worth the cost to see if you can avoid a rebuild or seal replacement. I got two and have only had to use one for the three bikes so they're pretty sturdy.

Used them a few weeks ago.  Had to do the procedure twice but the leak has stopped.
I am thrilled to say the least.

I've used the" sealmate" and found it thicker than 35mm film. The 35mm film was easier to slide under the seal. You have to move the film up and down while you move it around the tube. The oil that oozes from the tube during the process makes it hard to hold on to the film, but it's doable if you keep drying the oil. Also, make sure you slide the dust ring down with a screwdriver before you slide the film up under the seal. I found the key to success is that you pump(jump) on the handle bars 10 to 20 times then wipe and do it again. You may have to repeat several times. This will re-seat the seal. My leak started when I raised the front wheel off the floor 2 years ago. It has not leaked a drop since. I no longer raise the front wheel for long periods.

I had a fork leaking at InZane in Eureka Springs. I had a SealMate with me and it worked for me. That was 15,000 miles ago and still no leak.

It looks like a good thing to have for a fix at home or on the road.  Now to decide which color I want.   cooldude
What was I thinking, Honda Red.  Just ordered 5, good gifts for riding buds.

I agree, Plunker, good gifts. Just be sure to give them some instructions with them or at least a link to the instructions.
