A tourist  uglystupid2 hit me in the traffic circle on St. Pete Beach.   tickedoff I'll be replacing the hard bags.  Also, the handlebars hit the tank and put quarter size dents in it.  I am looking for somebody in the Tampa area who knows how to do correctly fix the dents in the tank and to paint the whole bike again.  The bike has a custom paint job, all one solid color.  Got a 2001 standard with Champion hard bags and an I/S tank.

Thanks.

Sorry I can't help and that you need a painter at all.  I hope someone in the Tampa area will help you.  I think Doug (Tundra) just had some body and paint work done, maybe he will recommend his guy.

Fort Walton Beach, Florida I'm a simple man, I like pretty, dark haired woman and breakfast food.

I have a painter I have used in Lakeland, but sorry I would not recommend him any longer, his son started doing the work, and frankly he has been dropping the ball lately. There is a painter/body shop in Pinellas park, the work seems good, but they are expensive.

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

No problem.  The picture i saw of your bike does not show the tank clearly but it kinda looks like you some artwork on it.  Still a nice looking bike.    cooldude

Lets move forward with the light shell.

Sorry for your loss.  Please keep us updated on the tank repair.  There was a lot of discussion a while back about dent repair in these tanks, including over pressurization, and if I recall correctly, they are double walled making surface dent removal difficult.

I have a dent in mine as well and, now that Grumpy's Lakeland contact has degraded, I'm thinking of keeping her like she is, dent and original paint with wear and tear.

I asked Grumpy to call Doug as I had not heard from him and he usually would have answered you question by now.  Turns out his computer crashed and he told Bill that he hoped to have it going again by Monday.
