Front fork seal info needed
«

For you gurus. Sometime ago i think I remember that the VTX 18R and Valk take the same seals. Valk part no is 51490 MWO 003,
VTX is 51490 MCA 003. Are they the same? I've got a set here for wifes the 18R and may need to use them on the Valk if they will fit.
Thanks
Warren

Warren, I can't answer the question if they are the same or not. But if you have a leaking fork seal, I would definately try the "film trick" or the Sealmate. I've done the "film trick" twice over the years and it has worked both times. It's worth a try and way easier than replacing the seals. Gary

All the seals are the same. Even 1800 Wings take the same units. The wings have had a seal problem (premature failure). In '06 a new stronger seal was developed. It should fit the Valks and VTXs. My wing has had 2 fork rebuilds in 53K. The Valk has had one (2 sides) and I just did the right side again at 134K.

Thanks Sandy. I was sure I read that on here or the VTX site a few years ago.
