Couple of us were headed over to Yellow Jacket Campground Saturday morning to see "Pappy" and the Old Boats and Antique Outboards, ride started out great, beautiful morning for riding all was good until we made a fuel stop.
We fueled up then moved away from the pumps to take a short break then the fun stuff began My friends Goldwing wouldn't start tickedoff No power to anything. We checked all the fuses then removed the right side panel to check the main fuse........somewhere in all this we moved the right stuff and the bike started. We deliberated for a few minutes and decided it probably would not be prudent to continue with our original plans.

Bike stalled three more times before we got back to the home turf..........Gonna take a look this morning, see if we can find a short or loose wire......

Sounds like you made the right decision.  Maybe a loose ground connection where it contacts the frame.  If it happens again and you are near some jumper cables try clamping one end of one cable to a good frame ground and the other to the negative side of the battery to prove your ground lead.

Chasing intermediate electrical things, can get a lot of hair pulled off your head looking for it.

Get your ohm meter out, remove side covers, start at the end, like a spark plug and work back wards to the battery.    Each step, wiggle wires while taking a reading.   If it fluctuates, find out why, if needed fixed, do so and then keep on moving to the battery.

By the way, suggestion, this is where I found my problem several moons ago, and also found a Gold Wing part to fix it.      Under right side cover, is a good sized black boot protecting  bunch of wiring.    There is a connector on there with a fuse on one side.    Inspect that connection good, as if you happen to wire something in and don't use a relay, it will get very hot and melt this connector.

This was mine at close to 200K, and now it has 242K and still running like a scalded dog.

Repair part;

If this is your problem and you order this part, the BIG Red wire has to be moved to the vacant slot to match the Valkyrie wiring.    Be sure and use the larger Black Boot in the repair kit.

Here is a list of replacement parts for various problems, or maintenance.

Well, all I can say is that you guys would have had a great time up there. Weather was nothing short of incredible and the river cool and inviting.
We took my old 1949 PO-15 (22.5HP opposed twin Johnson) on my Gheenoe up there and put some serious miles on it. Ran flawlessly and cruised well.
Also the Allisons were on hand again this year. Ran one of those until it threw a blade at around 7,000 RPM. Shut down immediately to keep from bending a propshaft.  They are an absolute blast!
