Anyone ever use the D404 front 140/80/17 bias. It's the front not the rear. I picked one up yesterday but I'm having second thoughts. They had elite 3's in stock also but I've had bad luck with radials.

The 404 will work fine, been using them for years. If you are tallking about cupping, they don't. Here is a new one ready to install. I usually get 18 to 20 thousand miles. Hoser

I love mine. Works the best with my darkside rear tire. Really made it handle well. Good tire.

I assume you mean 150/80/17. Just mounted mine on Sunday. No problems so far. It's a 140. It's not a rear tire going on the front. I know the standard size is 150. It's a front. I'll put it on tonight. Unless I get talked out of it. I've used a Kenda rear on the front in the past

Just had lots of cupping. The venom didn't last long. May have been a bad tire but I won't pay for another. Metz seemed better but I don't want to spend $236 for a tire that don't last as long as a $120 tire

I am running a D404 whitewall in the front, and a D407 whitewall in the back. So far I like them, 7,000 to 8,000 miles and I see no signs of wear at all. Jim

I suspect weeping air leak thru the stem valve seat.... I have metz on my I/S that come with bike when I bought it. I hate it bec I can feel growling noisey and finally it got to bald and I'm ready to replace it with Avon Cobra soon. 15K miles is about right for most averages for Valkyries... Most HD run like 8K so can't complains about it. Prices is your choice... I pick best tires than the prices.

Not sure why you chose a smaller tire than stock, but it should work. Good luck.

Check your speedo against a GPS unit if you can. Going to a smaller diameter front tire will affect your speedo. Fred.

I got impatient. It's all they had. I didn't trust the 150/70/17 anymore. It had lots of miles in it and a few cuts and scratches. I'll be riding tomarrow. The 140 buttoned up nicely, it's just a shade narrower than stock. I've seen 130/90/17 on these bikes before but I doubt I'll ever go 2 sizes down or up. .I hear 1 size is ok either up or down

I have a D 404 130-90-17 rear tire on the front turning in the proper direction NOT reversed. Out on the slab or in the twistys-i'm liking everything about this tire I have up front. With my D/S rear-Falken Ziex 512 in 205-65-16 this combination-for me anyway-is working VERY well. RIDE SAFE.

Rode my new tire to work this morning. Rides great! If I get good wear, I'll probably buy it again or do a 90 with a 65 because I do lots of interstate riding

I had a Metz 880 up front that I got 14454 miles out of. When I took the center out of my General D/S I had the gauge checked that I was using-Slime Digital. The Slime gauge was reading 22 23 P S I more than actual pressure. Most of the reason I got good mileage up front and piss poor mileage out of the rear. Oh and B T W-took a really BIG hammer to the Slime gauge-didn't want anybody else messing up their tires. RIDE SAFE.

I like my D404 130/90-17 bias rear up front with my Falken in back. It has 21K miles on it now, this is last summer with 17K miles on it. Fred.

Jim, Thanks for your email reply from yesterday - I had not seen these more recent posts. Looks like you're running the D404 140-80-17 on the front and the D407 180-65-16 on the rear. Your white-walled beauty should be easy to spot at InZane! I'll look forward to seeing it and talking with your further. Woton

I'm sold on Avons. On my 2nd set of Cobras. The rear is closing in on 23K with no cupping and it's not down to the wear bars yet. Run the rear at 46 PSI all the time.

Jim put me on to these two whitewalls. Love em. I also have around 8,000 miles on them.
