Just wanted to say hello.  I'm new to the forum and new to the Valkyrie.  In fact won't even have the bike for another couple of weeks.

I'm sure I will have lots of questions.

All,

Thanks for the warm welcome.  No pics yet, but the bike is a 99 orange/black standard. I'm brining it in from Alabama.

And I'm located right smack in the middle of the straightest roads in Texas.   Midland, TX.

Welcome.  You have the finest of all the valks.  The 99 orange/black std!  You might have guessed that is what I have also.  Look up the history of that bike.  Only 240 of this made, only that year, only that color combination.  Be prepared to hear things like "I ain't never seen a Harley that looks like that (orange)!  I always respond that you still haven't!  OR, you get the occasional @$$ that says something like Honda stole the Harley colors ( like they own orange).  Anyway, welcome to the insanity! I hadn't heard that.  I did speak to the seller this evening and he bought the bike in Kentucky and had planned on keeping it in is collection.  Put at 72, he is thinning out the heard.

z10 Welcom to the group.  You will not find a greater bunch of people.  They know Valkyrie inside and out.  Any questions you have they will know.  Or find someone who does.

Well, the seller has been paid, the bike is due to ship from Birmingham on Wednesday or Thursday and I hope to have it sitting in my garage by Sunday or Monday.

Pics coming soon.

Welcome.  You have the finest of all the valks.  The 99 orange/black std!

I want to commend you on your choice of the second finest of all the Valks. As I'm sure MacDragon will confirm when he stops by, the finest of the Valks is beyond all doubt the 2000 Standard in solid black (what I call my Phat Gurl in her Little Black Dress  2funny).

Welcome to the zoo, sir. Feeding the animals is encouraged. Griping when you lose a hand (as I may be about to) is not.

Happy riding and post some pics when you get them.

Rain Maker, don't get the wrong idea, I've been working on that little list of cars for quite some time.  The ones that I know I'll keep are the 69 Camaro, 72 GMC, 79 RX7 (my first new car) and the Z06.  The rest are just passing through.

Shadow, thanks for the welcome and that's a nice looking Valk.  Sure you don't need to add a little color.  Wink  Remember.....you encouraged feeding the animals.

Well, you're right about the 2 tone.  It's slow black and speed resistant black.  Evil

I think I just figured something out. We ALL have the finest, the fastest, and the most desirable Valk of all the Valks ever made. And for some reason that makes perfect sense to me. (except maybe that shade of "active living facility" blue  Evil)

Here's an update and a first pic of my "New to ME" Valk.  The bike arrived as scheduled last Friday morning and I must admit, it's a lot bigger than the pics on ebay.  Shocked  So I mustered the courage and made a trip around the neighborhood.  All went well and the bike and I came back with out a scratch.

Sunday afternoon, I took the bike on a short 75 mile shake down cruise down some hot dusty and more or less deserted roads around here.  The bike ran flawlessly and I'm starting to get familiar with it.

I'll post more pics later if anyones interested.
