I have installed a Honda CB on my 2000 Valkyrie Interstate and I'm getting a lot of engine noise.  Anyone know where I can purchase a filter?  Thanks for any and all help!

There are two noise filters on the IS to help quiet the CB. There is a  Noise Suppressor "A" part# 08118-MN500-05. It's connected in the harness at right side neck behind steering stem. Inline connection to the 2-Pin connector (Black). There is also a noise suppressor "C" part# 08118-MN500-07. It's attached at the alternator cable mount and grounded to alternator housing. This is a standard part on the IS.

I believe that this Goldwing air pump noise suppressor is identical to the Valkyrie IS CB noise suppressor "A": http://www.sierra-mc.com/proddetail.asp?prod=HON-GL15-CB-FIL-AP

Oh, and where do you have the CB squelch set??? I'll adjust mine until I can get the weakest riders signals but completely suppress the background noise otherwise. The settings may vary between 10 and 20 for me. I only have the original IS alternator filter/suppressor but I don't have the "A" filter at all. No problem.

Thanks for the help.  I'll look into those filters.  I have to turn my squelch up to the point of not being able to hear other riders in order to eliminate the noise.   Sad

Good grounds on the radio? What is the S W R(standing wave ratio)? You need an S W R meter to check it. And i'm dredging this up from approx. 40 years of messin with the durn things on my big trucks.  uglystupid2 As a side note I have 2 or 3 good C B radios in my garage-where they are gonna STAY.  cooldude Been retired a smidge over 4 years and DO NOT miss them in the least.  Wink RIDE SAFE.
