I AM GOING TO BE PART OF THE ESCORT FOR THE WOUNDED WARRIOR RIDE THIS SAT. 05-18-13, WOULD LOVE TO SEE A GROUP OF VALKYRIES IN IT. IT STARTS AT BROOKE ARMY MEDICAL CENTER @ 6:00 AM. WE WILL HAVE A FULL POLICE ESCORT  ALL THE WAY TO PORT O' CONNOR. THEY SAID THERE WILL BE ABOUT TEN BUSES WITH WARRIORS IN THEM. I HAVE BEEN ON THIS RIDE THE LAST THREE YEARS AND IT WAS THE BEST THREE RIDE'S I HAVE EVER BEEN ON. DAMIAN & I WENT ON IT LAST YEAR BUT HE CANT MAKE IT THIS TIME. I did the 2013 Texas Honor Ride a few weeks ago. Three valks in the bunch. 5 wounded soldiers to honor. Great day for the occasion.

The wife and I are planning to be with a group coming out of Victoria and, what I understand, meet the buses at the Buckeys in Wharton and ride with them to their destination, I guess Port O'Conner.

That must be the group comming out of Houston, We will be with the group out of San Antonio we will be coming trough victoria.

You're right, these are from Houston. And we're meeting at Praseks, not Buckees.
  I think we need to check the dates.  We're doing this on Friday (17th).
After I read your post I double checked with the guy organizing and he said it's Friday.

Or is the group from SA coming Saturday?

Here is what i got, last year both groups meet in Port O Conner at the same time.

WARRIOR’S WEEKEND
At Port O’Connor
On Saturday, May 18, 2013 (Also Armed Forces Day) the non-profit organization “Warriors Weekend” will be taking hundreds of wounded soldiers in approximately ten buses from Brooke Army Medical Center to Port O’Connor TX for fishing trips.  Chapter IV, Reguladores LEMC Chisholm Trail and Crossroads Chapters will be escorting the soldiers and their families.  we will need your help escorting these heroes and their families to the coast.  They will be riding down on tour buses.  Please help us help those who have sacrificed so much for us.
We are staging at the George Beach gate at George C. Beach Road and N I-35, just South of Petroleum Dr. at I-35 adjacent to BAMC at Fort Sam Houston.
The escort will begin at 0600 sharp from the George Beach gate.  We will have a full police escort all the way down.  While there will be no fuel stops, they claim to have a plan for one fuel stop.  Details given out at the preride briefing.
Those wanting to meet for breakfast may do so at the Taco Factory (4706 Seguin Road).  There is also a Valero station open at that location.
Timeline is as follows:
0545 Arrive George Beach gate for preride brief.
Leave BAMC at 0600
LaVernia 0630
Nixon 0700
Cuero 0740
Victoria County line 0800/0815
Port O’Connor 09000/0915

That looks really organized. Down to the minute.

I guess the guys from Houston are going to spend Friday night in PO. The plan I heard is they are going to be fishing at 9am Sat.  Looks like your group will be in PO by 9, I guess for the fishing trips.
I heard there are like 350 boats signed up to take them, which is Fantastic!!

My story is we are to meet at a little town right outside of Victoria at 10am Friday, run up to Praseks (1-1/2hr) and meet the bus there where they will eat and then escort them through a couple of little towns on the way, where there will be parades, and then to PO.

This is my first time doing this, I've heard about it from a couple of biker buds and they talk highly of it.  I'm looking forward to it!!
