Something is leaking onto the head at the #6 intake manifold.  I have not searched real hard, but not sure where it's coming from.

I have taken nothing apart, ever, except to change the air filter several years ago.

2001 Standard with 31,000 miles.

Get a set of intake O rings from Redeye tech and you'll be good to go. Easy to change out.

It does look like the intake o-ring and its easy to fix, but, I'd also check the vacuum line to the petcock. The diaphram can leak and the line can be cracked/split.

Looks like you've had some rodent on the top of your bike, doing his business.

OK. Looks like a O-ring leak also.

Maybe a little soap and water to see if there is a leak?

Looks like MGM did when the neighbors dog pissed on the motor.

If I could of caught him in the act he would have been in Doggie heaven now.

. . . .  Maybe a little soap and water to see if there is a leak?

Yep.  There was yellow residue by the manifold and I cleaned it all off before riding to work.  17 miles later in the parking lot I took the above photo in the original post.

Maybe there was a mouse hiding and the high speed ride scared the piss out of him?

Is it just me or are my eye giving out?    I don't see another picture.

Like others said O-ring leaking. I would also replace all your vacuum lines and synch port caps. Redeye has all you need to do the job.
