Does anyone know if the 1800 GW diff is geared higher than a Valk . With some fabricating ,I'm wondering if it would be possible to mate the entire diff wheel and all to a valk swingarm . I realise this would take modification to the driveshaft or mating a Valk pinion cup to a GW pinion . But if the gearing wasnt too radical it may help with Hiway Rpms . The Mariomoto OD was obviously too much . Just a thought .....

Regis, question, isn't the 1800 a single swing arm instead of 2?

If so, you'd have to start pretty close to the back of the engine and cut the frame so as to attach that 1800 single arm.

I'm not saying it can't be done, but it would be easier to just trade for the 1800.

suggest u search. everything has been addressed including putting the GL1800 swingarm on. it has been done but does not work right.
final conclusion is custom gears would have to be made for the valk final drive, there is nothing that fits. unless one has access to a good parts yard and maybe something from another brand fits, but honda there is nothing.

only option is car tire to lower rpms by 300.  Remember the carbs and cams are designed to work for the rpms provided.
more advance at part throttle will give better mpg if that is what your after.

It was a passing thought . Im pretty open to fabricating and Frankensteining crazy shht together . Ive tried the 205/65/16 tire . I didnt like the seat height change so I use a 60 . For general purposes my Valk does fine , its those 1200 mile stints on the interstate hiway that sux the gas that get to me . If I ever wear out my Valk I might look at a GW but probably just get a used Valk . It just seems a shame knowing that there are alot of GW swingarms out there from trike conversions that are available . Ive had a 6* trigger wheel for 9 yrs , 41k miles . It does help !

This mod has been done. The bike was posted on here a while back. It is a sport bike style Valk with the Wing swingarm. My '05 Wing and the '98 Valk seem to have the same RPM/MPH ratios. 70 MPH is about 3,000 RPM.

Yes I remember that bike ! Thanks for RPM info . I remember I had a 1981 GW and it was geared much lower than my fatherinlaws 85 GW Aspencade, thats why I wondered .
