All,

I have been noticing that the bike seems  to be running hotter than it did last year...

I have a Tell Tru Dipstick Thermo, and I know they are not always the most accurate, but it used to run around 200... now its running around 225-230.....

I know the fan is coming on and hear it/feel it on a regular basis.... But I did have an issue a few weeks back when it overheated when I was idling it in the garage while workin on it.... Fluid came out of the overflow tank onto the floor and I think the hot light cam on... can't remember cause when I saw the fluid, I shut it down....

I did just take it for a 400 mile ride up to Timber n Chili's.... one day,  200 up and 200 back and it read around 225-230 most of the way even at 90 plus....( I had a nice red Porsche out front!!!!!) thing was , it was a very cool day, with the air temp around 60's..... should run cooler at speed, I think.

Temp light never came on and it does light on startup.... And the Fan does cycle on and off

SOOOOO "just in case" I just ordered a thermostat and oring......... Can't hurt to have either way.

I know the Tel Tru's can get outta wack, but the bike should run under 200 on that.....

Thoughts? Am I just a worry Wart?

Here in AZ, My Tru Tel runs about 210 at 70 MPH. Put your temp guage in a pan of water with a candy thermometer.. Bring them up on a stove and compare. Next, get a thermo tester and read the top hose as it enters the radiator. Watch the fan cycling and note the temps. This should narrow your search.

if you have been turning the Tell Tru in (or out) by that big round face, instead of with a 17mm key in that slot underneath,
then you probably turned it out of alignment.

pull it out, and put it in a boiling pot of water on her stove and verify.
turn the dial back to correct.
