Does anybody have any experience with GPS mounts for the Garmin nuvi 700 series? They have the ball mount. I looked at Ram Mounts, they look pretty decent. You can find cheapo ones on fleabay for about 5 bucks, but i imagine you get what you pay for. Thanks

I have a Ram for my nuvi 750. The factory mount minus the suction cup stays on in the Ram. It is super heavy duty compared to the cheapos. Well worth the piece of mind not to have to worry about it falling off. I have it mounted right next to the risers and the gps itself sits dead center over the center of the riser clamp. If you would like some photos let me know.

I have this one:

I mounted it in the center of the handlebars. I used to have a RAM mount for a radar detector, and although it functioned well enough I always thought it looked kind of crappy. I rotate my Nuvi from my bike to my truck, just snapping it onto the ball mount.

I HAVE A MOUNT FROM LIDO.  IT IS EXCELLENT.  I MOUNTED MINE BETWEEN THE RISERS (I HAVE INDIVIDUAL CAPS ON EACH RISER) SO IT IS CENTERED ON THE BARS WITHOUT OBSCURING ANY VISIBILITY TO ANY OTHER GUAGES OR LIGHTS.  THE MOUNT SEEMS VERY DURABLE AND ALTHOUGH IT IS PLASTIC, IT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO SUMMER HEAT WITHOUT ANY ILL EFFECTS.  EASY TO SNAP THE GARMIN IN PLACE OR TAKE OUT OF THE MOUNT IF YOU NEED TO MOVE IT FROM ON VEHICLE TO ANOTHER.  I AM GETTING ANOTHER MOUNT FROM LIDO SOON FOR MY OTHER VALK AS WELL.
