I just got a great deal on an Interstate tank on Ebay, not a speck of rust, nearly perfect except for one dent on the top which won't be much of a problem.  What I want to ask is, what front seats will fit on the bike with the larger tank.  I currently have the stock 02 seat and a Corbin which I switch off depending on how far I'm going.  I see a lot of solo seats - Mustang, Saddleman, that claim to fit both Interstate and standard - do they?

Mustang seats are for both IS and Tourer/Std.  I think all others are model specific, not that they cannot have a little nose job, or just rub the tank a little (put painters tape at the contact point).

I would wait until you have the tank installed to make a decision. When I put a Interstate tank on my tourer I found both the stock seat and Ultimate seat I owned would fit okay, just pushed the nose up a bit. I had already ordered a new Ultimate seat for the Interstate tank though, but wish I had not been so quick to replace what I had.

The Corbin that I used to have had a pretty hard nose, so I don't think that one will fit...

I put an interstate tank on a tourer with a mustang seat, I had to have 3/4 of an inch cut off the seat to get it to fit right, it was wrinkled becauce the seat was to long.
