So yesterday I am cruising down I-5 at about 80 Mph and the engine cuts out for a fraction of a second, just as if I were to toggle the engine kill switch off and on real quick. It has happened twice this year.
I have had it happen once last year and once the year before.
I figured I should check the kill switch and the side stand switch.
Anyone else have this problem?
It's a 99 Interstate with 87K miles on it.
Troubleshooting these intermittent problems is tough.

Many have reported the same thing, but, I have never heard of anyone finding the source of the problem. Mine does it about once a year, and after fiddling with all the switches, nothing pops out at me, and it stops doing it for another year. Good luck at finding it cooldude

My 2000 interstate does it from now and then. I cleaned the contacts in the kill switch and that helped for a while. Now I just cycle the switch a few times every once and a while before turning key on and problem has not reared it"s head again.

Thanks for the reply's.
I will cycle the kill switch more often, I rarely use it.
Most of the time I shut it down with the key or the side stand.

Also check the battery cables and ends for tightness, and specifically, the negative cable where it attaches to the bike for corrosion.
