Valkyrie Cam Kits

Because this Valkyrie has been a dream waiting to happen  (hopfully have one by this weekend)

 I seen a webpage a long time ago, where folks change the cams in the valkyrie.

I thought about doing this, for one it would not be my only bike, more of a toy hotrod so to speak for me.

I considered buying cams for it.

Anyone here do this and what choices of Cams or websites are out there?

Any disappointed or Ill results after you may have done this ?

For the price of the cams way back in 98 when I did mine it was not worth the hassle.   I ported and relieved the heads and gained more than the cams.

The cams came out about 6 months after I put them in, and a couple of months ago I used them for paper weights at the shop.  I think I got them from Lamont, one of our founding members, and I don't remember where he got them.

Viking came along later with a set of cams to go with their heads, but they went out of business.

If you want speed, go with forged pistons and add a blower.  The blower is still available.......

Remember, the more you stress up the engine, the harder it is on the drive line.  Rear-ends get expensive.  Don't ask how I know this.......

I was not looking for speed actually just more lope at idle, sort of thing.

If that is the only reason, leave it stock and do the nickel trick for your buddies to show them how smooth the engine is......

The stock engine will put a pucker factor in your seat........

put the baffles in and when you want noise, one screw on each pipe takes the baffles out.  I used to do that on my Tourer when I went to a place where the two-lungers thought they were making noise.  They all were amazed when the little Valkyrie fired up with 6 straight pipes.
