I am not sure of the technical name for them, but at one time someone was making these "push pins?" to replace the screws or bolts that attach the bags to the bike. Are they still available or is there some other way to attach the bags to the bike besides the PIA screws? Just looking for a "quick release" system for removing the bags. TIA

Hope somebody knows, it would be a nice change from using bolts and nuts.

I think what you were referring to were quick lock pins, similar to the link I'll post.

However, even if you attached the bags this way, you'd still have the bag rails on the bike that are bolted on.
What many of us have done is called the "Quick drop kit" where the entire rail system with bags intact come off in less than 5 minutes. The rail bolts are changed out. Some use studs and some have used carriage bolts. Both methods work. Not sure if it's discussed in Shop Talk or not, but I'm sure we can come up with the link if anyone is interested.

Speaking of the bag drop kits.... Has anyone found a replacement kit for the discontinued Rattlebars kit?
I have the Rattlebars kits on my '97 & Kim's '98 & love them. Had to use the stock bolts when I added factory bags to the '99 so I'm looking!  Cool

I'm sure I could fabricate a Quick Drop set up but the chrome Rattlebars kit has been durable & rust free.  cooldude

When I had the leather bags on mine I just bought a pack of M6 (IIRC) thumb screw headed bolts and used those. Took a matter of seconds to unscrew all four by hand. There are lots of different ones on eBay these are the ones that I used they can also be used for mounting the windscreen too for quick on and off.
