Author Topic: Grinding a radius on the corners of the Alternator fins.  (Read 822 times)

I read on board sometime back that someone ground down the corners of the alternator fins to provide more clearance for installation. 
Would like to know what size radius and the the location of the fins this is done to.  All or only ones in certain areas of the end of the alternator.

You don't need to molest the alternator.  There are several posts, some with pictures.  It goes in just fine if you take your time.

Install it at the same angle in reverse that it comes out.

If I remember right it was a bigger watt alternator someone installed that had to be ground
