Well the day stared bright and early at 06:00

as I was to excited to finally get some wind and see some good friends.

Out to the kitchen to make the ever need pot of joe.

Unfortunately the pot decided after numerous years of good service to quit and die! ???

Um, is this really the way I want to start the day?

Since Dawn and Gene could not make the ride

I have no reason to stick around waiting for them so I take off early and head north on K15 to US 56 to meet Dalen and his bride, Shay!

Oops I am about 30 minutes early to meet them,

no where to get the still missing cup of joe

so off I go to meet them coming. Meet up with Dalen and Shay and it is off to meet Lonnie from Topeka and his new HD at Elmdale.
We arrived at Elmdale right on time

and after just a few minutes Lonnie arrived and it was off to Ottawa to meet Studebakers and Barkers.

We made good time

and even let Lonnie lead a bit,

to boast his morale of course!

Upon arriving at Ottawa we discovered everyone already there and on time,

WOW this is going really well.

GPS Joe then took the lead for the last leg to Hillsdale Bank BBQ and can you believe it we were early!

But not as early as our Honorary Kansas Valkyrie Rider Hayhauler on his orange wing,

all the way from a little place called Texas?

Then came Pam Fette on her trike and Dave in his truck from almost 20 minutes away in Paola, okay 30!

Dave said he was pretty beat riding in the AC watching Pam on the trike!

Next to arrive was Bon S. in his tool laden super van.
We all enjoyed some good BBQ swapped a few stories

and then decided it was time for the pararde to Carl and Lori's place to help our Brother and Sister with a little yard work.

GPS Joe lead our caravan of seven bikes and three support vehicles to our destination.

Upon arriving at Carl and Lori's we basically took over the circle drive and yard with vehicles,

I think the neighbors may have been talking as well.

Lori met us on the porch and then we filed in to see Carl. Carl greeted everyone with a handshake, or hug, or both

and it was real special when Hayhauler walked in,

Carl was really touched, as we all were.

After a little visit it was off to the yard for the task at hand. Lori said do whatever you want!

Well we did!

Chainsaws cried, trimmers whirred, and clippers snipped. Trees, vines, shrubs and leaves were no match for this group.

In no time flat we had found the house and made a large pile for removal on another day. Just as we were finishing the rains came

and boy did it pour.

Lori served some wonderful goodies

and we all visited a bit. The rain let up some so we donned the rain gear,

bid our farewells and off we went into the monsoon!

It poured on us most of the way to Lawrence

then cleared up pretty good.

At Topeka we bid Barkers, Studebakers, Lonnie and Jimmy ado,

while Cox's and I ventured on west.

At Abilene I went south for a spirited solo ride back to the house.

While Cox's went on to Salina.

I got home about 20:45 it was a Good Day!!!!!!!!!!!!
