Happy Father's Day y'all, got a question about the Scala. My wife, bless her heart, got me a Scala G4 Powerset  for Father's Day. She searched, but came up with this. My problem is I currently ride with a half helmet and while I think I could make it mount, the microphone is not on a stem, but just a cord, intended to be mounted to a full face. Roll Eyes so I am putting this out there to ask before sending this back, I could just buy a full or flip helmet coolsmiley, what would be the correct alternative. Any suggestions?

Being that it is a present from your wife, I would try to make it work JimmyT....... Check out their website for microphone alternatives,,,  http://www.cardosystems.com/homepage ,,, you may want to give them a call tomorrow and talk to them about the system you have and what you want to do with it,,, I'll bet they can fix you up..... and let the wife know she did good!!!!

I continue to have questions about Scala even after 40 years. Its JoAnn's maiden name.

You can buy an headset kit for the G4 & G9 that comes with the mounting clip, speakers, a Velcro mike for full-face helmet, and a boom mike for open/flip-face helmets. I don't know if you can get just the boom mike separately, but if you could, it would plug into your existing mounting clip.

Can the set be exchanged for the right unit for your helmet?

You can buy different speaker/microphone combinations. There is a boom mic attachment that can be used with open face helmets. Many options here:
