Things I learned about Kansas while visiting this past weekend..........

I knew it was flat, but you can see the curvature of the earth from just about anywhere up there.

I learned that Stude31 has to lead all rides.   If not, he will pass everyone and become the leader.

I learned that storms can come up at a moments notice and can get pretty hairy, quickly.  I swear I saw Dorothy and her house flying above Joe and my heads while out riding in Olathe.

I learned that pretty good BBQ can come from a converted bank with a converted caboose for a dining room.

I learned Lori can whip up a batch of chocolate covered strawberries and a cheesecake in a few minutes flat.

I learned that a group of Valkyrie riders can descend upon a yard and eliminate all kinds of trees and brush if you stay out of their way.

I learned that if you cover a chicken breast with a couple if slices of brisket, add some cheese and pico to the top, it's danged good.

I learned that people in Kansas think that 66 deg in the morning is "muggy".  Smiley

I learned that you can make really good time on the Kansas Turnpike.

I learned that the Wing gets about 36.7 mpg on a 1600 mile trip with a moving average speed of 69.2 mph.

I learned that God has created some beautiful country if people would just get out and look at it.  I am always amazed.

I learned that Topeka has some rich history.  Like an awesome high school and a monument to one of the first de-segregated schools.

I learned that a ~1600 mile weekend ride to visit friends is good for me, Carl, and everyone involved.  It simply cannot be beat!

See you on the road.
