Hows US 20 and I-380 looking so far? Any construction or detours? Also any good stops to make along US 20? How long will it take to make it from I-380 to Souix Falls? Going to start around Iowa City and make it to Winner SD for the night. 26 more days......  Smiley

Try this link for the latest road work when ya depart home.
Currently looks like about 8 spots from Ia City to Sioux Falls.

http://www.511ia.org/default.asp

Once ya get the map up, scroll down and look for I-380 and or US 20 for more detail information.......

When ya leave Iowa City, you need to really head for the Amana Colonies.  Good food and pretty coutry side, and then work your way up to US 20.

The way US 20 goes through the state it will hit several towns, most of them are not on the new road, and about anyone of the towns is a good place to stop.  Amana Colonies is kind of like the Amish, but more relaxed in their culture, did I say, damn good food and served family style.........  Ya run out of something and they refill the bowl.

I-380 has been resurfaced from Iowa City to at least Cedar Rapids...that's all the farther I went on it today.  Pretty smooth.

Thx all. I remember reading about the Amana colonies on I-80 near Bettendorf. It was on a sign at a rest stop.
