They have to assist their meager wages some way or another....

I think every LEO I know worked extra jobs to make ends meet.

True...My good friend is a cop here in town. Besides working full time for the borough, he also works on the county drug task force for the DA and for a couple years was working part time for another township providing security at a local concert venue. Sometimes I wonder when he sleeps.
