Paint color is pretty personal, what looks good to one person looks like crap to another. Get what you like.

Ditto.  In most cases it'll bring down the value when you go to sell it.

Check the color schemes that Honda used. There was a very fetching black silver one year. There's a list on Dags valkyrienorway site, but I can never find it.  Hope someone will help. You could check the 'just pix' section on the main page and click thru a few hundred pix to look for ideas...

1999 Black Silver GL1500CT

I like the 2000 IS Black Blue and 2001 IS Black Beige.

Easier and cheaper to buy the bike color you like.

For a bike that was last made in 2003,....custom paint (done well) should have no effect on the value of your bike. Unless someone is looking for a restoration project.

As these bike age there will be a lot of people painting them. Paint it like you want, forget the ney sayers, the title is in your name not theirs.

You will not hurt the resale if done properly, may even bring it up a little depending what she looks like before the paint.

I had a '05 Suzuki C50 which was dark grey and black and if I ever repaint my Valk it will be with these colors.  It just appeals to me.
Also the black had very slight blue metal flake that you could only see when the sun was shining on it.

IMO, and this is strictly MO, I'm not a fan of the matte black.  It does work on certain vehicles, but the Valks aren't one. These are "showroom" type vehicles and should have the shinyest paint possible. Again, MO. (and as the saying goes, "we all have one...")

As others have said it's your bike so paint it whatever is your fancy!!
