New fuel filter extra part
«
on:
June 28, 2013, 01:08:45 PM »
I just ordered an OEM fuel filter. It came with the filter screen, an new "o" ring and a black, flexible sleeve that doesn't show on the parts schematic. Can anyone identify this part and tell me where it goes?
As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

That goes inside the filter (near the middle) where there is not any screening materials. It keeps the filter in place when you slide it down the fuel intake shaft. If you put it on the shaft (near the open end) it will catch in this area when you insert the shaft into the filter.

It's a filter screen that's on the intake tube of the petcock and inside of the gas tank.

as mentioned above :
you can see it on the right as a dark shadow inside the fuel screen.
it supports the screen, inside the tank.
