Well its a driffernt ride fron my 1300 but I like the power. Seemed as it tracked a bit different, but I guessing that's because I have new tires on the 1300, and I am getting ready to put some new duns on the Valk. Picked up a rear off e-bay, but some beet me on the front one just was not quick enough. Got a set of front Corbin floor boards. ? Does any one make a brake pedel for the Valk like the 1300? I can live with the shift pedel but I like the way the 1300 rides high. I got some hard bags coming, but it looks like I'll have to wait for a faring, and has anyone had any experance with the hoppe quadzilla Valkyrie fairing? The girlfriend liked the ride, and said she didn't notice the speed like when we ride the 1300. I am glad she likes to ride on the back I don't have to give her the 1300 lol.

Mrs. ALWAYS complained about my speed on my 1300, loud pipes made her think we were going fast when we were going 50. On the Valk she does not even notice when i am going 70 and says nothing when i pull out and pass going even faster. Lifted the front once on a hard shift to second and she did not even know but when I told her later she did let me know not to do that again.

Isn't the brake pedal adjustable?

I beileve it is.  There are brake peddle covers as well.  Kuryakyn makes one.  I believe it raises it by it covovering the existing pedal.

Thanks, I have seen the Kuryakyn add on pads, and I'll have to look at the peddle to see if it can be raised.
On another note, what about pipes? I like something to make it sound meaner, but don't think I want to go with the drag pipes. Is there a mod for the standard pipes????? I still like to be able to hear the radio!!
Thanks again.

The mod for stock pipes is to cut out the 3 pipes inside the tips. If that's not loud enough, then use a large drill and drill out the first baffle inside the "cut off" pipes.

Captsharkey,

I have a set of Cobra floorboards that I took off my Interstate.  They are in real good shape.
Contact me via my email address if you're interested.

I just bought a pair off e-bay, bidding ended yesterday, price is not too bad compared to retail.
Thanks for the offer.

Ok dummie time, I am not quite sure by what you mean cut out the 3 pipes inside the tips. Are you saying to remove the tips, and exspose the three pipes? Any carb work needed with this?
Thanks,
Sharky

I recently got a "new to me" Valkyrie too.  Mine's a 2003 Std model.  I need some hard bags too and I would be interested in more details on the ones you bought.  What kind are they?  What is your overall impression of the bags?  Etc.
