On my trip home I will probably take the following route and I would like to know which roads are toll roads.  And if you know the approximate costs.

Leaving La Crosse - I90 into Illinois
In Illinois I90 through Indiana
In Indiana I90/I80 into Ohio

I know Indiana and Ohio are toll roads.

Is I90 through Illinois and Wisconsin a toll road?

Thanks,  Mark

Yes, I believe that I-90 is toll on the Chicago Skyway and then again west of Chicago.

When I go through Chicago either direction (my brother lives there), I try to avoid I-90  and I-294 in the city as they can get pretty crowded most of the time.

I have found it best to go around Chicago if possible. We take I-80 to the southwestern burbs and grab I-355 which is also toll, but is pretty barren most of the time when compared to the other roads mentioned. We then pick-up I-90 in the NW burbs.

YMMV and I'm sure some of the Chicagoan-s can provide much better in-depth info than I can.

Let's RIDE

Yes, 90 into IL is a toll road. Get yourself an EZ pass if you don't already have one, they make the tolls a breeze versus having to stop and find the correct change. Just fly right through them.
When in doubt, ride.

Or hang something from your luggage rack to "obscure" the license plate from the cameras...And really fly right through them!!

I have an EZ pass (I-PASS from Illinois, actually). Does it have to be mounted on the bike somewhere, or can I keep it in my coat's breast pocket, for example? I scoured the I-PASS web site and don't see any info on using them with a bike, other than one 'can.'

I keep mine in my leather tank bib and it reads it every time. Alph keeps his in a breast pocket, so you should be fine.

Thanks for the follow up, Nitro!   :cooldude:

Ditto to everything above.  It will cost you $11 to $12 cash on I-90 through IL.  I-90 also has 62 mile long section one lane construction West of Chicago up to the WI state line.  So you PAY in more than one way.  We drove through it three weeks ago returning from MI.   :tickedoff:

Google "IL toll roads".  They have a very good site laying out the toll locations, amounts, etc.
