Wow... stock Valkyrie saddlebag prices are crazy, even damaged and needing repair/paint.
I almost didn't buy mine earlier this year because I thought they were high then. I scored a beautiful set with mounting brackets. The bags had some minor damage/scuffs.
Now I see them regularly listed between $1200.00 and $1400.00, then you'd probably have to paint to match. I hated to spend the money I did, but I am now real glad I did to complete the original Tourer look to my Standard.

seems to me they have been at or around that for several years.  If you got yours less than that for brackets and all you did good.

$800.00 for Interstate bags & latches with flawless rust-free mounts. no hardware, no key. Locksmith made keys for $15.00. Local Craigslist add/pickup, no shipping.
I feel better about spending that kind of cash on bags now. This is my third set of bags for this bike. Nothing quite like the OEM for the Valkyrie, mounts very solid and looks right.

I kind of understand why people part them out like this. Trunks with hardware going for over $1500, bags with hardware over $1000. I looked one day on eBay and just calculated what my bike would part out for and it was over $10,000. I can't sell it intact for that!  Sad

A while back on Ebay I saw a complete trunk & saddlebag set with mounting brackets for a GL1200. Price was Buy Now...$200.00. They were near spotless and just as big and nice looking as the Valk trunk/bags. I guarantee you I could have adapted them to my bike if I were in the market for a set. I even posted something about it on the General Board but doubt anyone made the move. If you are even slightly creative, you can do such things without paying ridiculous prices. Just saying!

A good example of how ridiculous prices are on items no longer made for the Valk. I just sold the highly sought after rear fender luggage rack on ebay. It was pristine, better than like new, and the final price at auction was well over $200. I'd never pay that kind of money but someone wanted it bad. Sure, I'm glad to have the extra cash for Rita's upcoming cataract surgery since I have to pay for the special lens. But personally, I'd do without before shucking out that kind of dough. Based on how prices are going for scarce Valk parts these days, I have a goldmine out in my garage.  Grin

i got mine just before Doug, when i told Doug how much i scored mine for with the mounting brackets and the rails around the bags, he went crazy, i posted the price on the board and i remember Johns comment " Larue you ought be ashamed of yourself to get these bags for that price good find tho"
the price for both bags and mounting brackets for 65 and saddlebag rails for 40, so 105 total...
it was a local craigslist guy in heines city who triked his tourer aabout ten years ago and they were just sitting in his shade, great condition tho.

i guess yo can get lucky sometimes  Grin

Got just under $1400 in these stock I/S bags including the paint to match & I feel fortunate.
I did have to piece them together with a mixture of new & what came with the bags hardware then convert them to open Tourer style. I must say I like the seamless I/S bag style better.  cooldude

Another good thing about OEM Honda saddlebags is they are infinitely repairable.  Shocked

I'm sure most of you guys have heard this story!  Angry

Larue.............would love to have your kind of luck......at least one time! You seem to score parts like this on a regular basis.

John has the knack too. He has gotten so many of the parts for the GW1200 very cheap or FREE!!! I need to start browsing Craigslist too I'm thinking.
